Frequently asked questions
What is Sakina?
A free, offline prayer times web app with Qibla, a monthly timetable, a tasbih counter and reminders. It has no ads, no account and no tracking.
How do I install it?
On iPhone use Safari, Share, Add to Home Screen. On Android use Chrome, Install app. On a computer, open the web app and install from the address bar if you like.
Which cities are included?
115 cities across the Middle East, Africa, Asia, Europe and the Americas. You can also use your time zone's guess or enter coordinates in Settings.
How accurate are the times?
The calculations are precise to under a minute. Differences from your local timetable come from the method and rounding. Pick your community's method and adjust by minutes.
Does it need internet?
Only for the first load. After that it works offline.
Does it send my location anywhere?
No. Location is used only on your device and only if you press the button.
Will it ring at Fajr when the app is closed?
Not in the web version. Export the timetable to your calendar for system alarms. A native app is planned.
How do I delete my data?
Settings has a delete button, or clear the site data in your browser. There is no server copy.
Is Sakina open source?
The calculations use the open-source Adhan library (MIT). The app itself is not open source at this time.
Which languages are supported?
English at the moment.
